Frequently asked questions about InYPT and the selection process.
Who can take part in the InYPT?
Students aged 13–18 years who are not attending university yet.
How do I register?
Fill out the registration form, or contact Mr. Shashikant Pandey (+91 98924 54417).
Do I need to form a team, or can I sign up on my own?
InYPT is an individual competition — you do not need a team to sign up.
Is there a fee to participate?
There is no participation fee for InYPT. However, if you are chosen for the Indian team, fees will apply for attending the IYPT.
What is a Physics Fight?
A Physics Fight at InYPT consists of a report and an opposition. The Reporter presents their work on one of the 17 problems, and the Opponent's role is to evaluate and challenge the report and engage in scientific discussion. The steps of a match at InYPT are shown below.
Note: the fights at the IYPT have an additional role — the Reviewer. We do not have this role at InYPT.

How many problems do I submit during the selection process?
You will need to solve and submit 2 problems of your choice during InYPT. The deadlines for your problems are 30th September and 30th November respectively. The national finals will be in December. More details will be provided during the orientation.
How is the final team of five chosen?
After the national finals in December, the Top 10 ranks are published. From here, 7–10 participants are shortlisted for the national team. The final five will then be decided by the first week of March.
What support is available to help me prepare?
Please text Mr. Pandey (+91 98924 54417) to be added to the WhatsApp group. Post doubts on the group and they will be answered.
